A lousy childhood has left Police Officer Dan Ross with severe self-esteem issues. So when the bright spot of his life, his beloved wife of ten years, disappears, he is completely devastated. But Dan’s life is again shattered when he loses his job and his stepchildren are kidnapped. Completely distraught, he intends to take his life. It is then that God steps in, showing Dan His love through the concern and prayers of a Christian church, and revealing a miraculous provision—three shelter animals who are not what they seem to be. With their help, he sets off on an incredible cross-country trip to rescue his children. Through it all, he will discover that no man is worthless to God.

This is about three angels who become part of the lives of a police officer and his two step-children after his wife just up and vanishes. At first it just seems like a cute feel-good story but then, all of a sudden, things shift into high gear and the reader is taken on a fast track to a thrilling adventure. And while this is happening, much of God's truths are revealed and put into action in the form of love, faith and sacrifice. You will not be disappointed.
Dan Ross' wife is missing. He doesn't understand how she could leave like that. We follow Dan through this story as he struggles with his faith and belief in God. All the while not realizing just how much he will come to change his thinking. The author tells a compelling story and how God can be such a comfort in our most difficult moments and what one does to protect their loved ones.
Allison is a superb author weaving a truly spectacular story filled with mystery & God's redeeming grace. I look forward to all future stories she is led to write. Praise God for people like Allison who tell the truth of God in such a wondrous way. Great work, Allison!
This a great book. Recommend this book to everyone. Will keep you reading and not want to put it down.
The book began quietly, but very soon I was pulled in by compelling plot that that almost demanded that I kept reading. Interesting development of the sometimes difficult relationships found in blended families.
Fans of such authors as Jerry Jenkins, Frank Peretti, or Jan Karon will appreciate The Keepers' crisp visual details, imaginative incorporation of the supernatural, and overt evangelical message.
This book was a great read with my children. Inviting enough to draw you into the story; exciting enough to keep you reading to see what happens next. A great story of character growth, personally & spiritually.
